With a smaller community comes a closeness that simply isn’t possible in the anonymity of a larger city. When neighbors know one another a spirit of cooperation takes hold, and residents work together. Whether it’s running into a police officer on "ride a bike with a cop day," families coming together on a beach cleanup, or shooting super soakers at each other during a parade, there’s nothing else like it. We recognize the importance of public involvement in civic and community affairs.
A community brings people together for a lifetime. The Center of Anna Maria Island is a nexus of community members from all three cities. Serving as a gathering place for those in the community, many lifelong friends are made while watching children and adults participate in the variety of sports. The Center provides an invaluable resource to residents and guests of Holmes Beach, as many long-time residents have grown and matured through the different programs.
It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood when everyone knows your name!
